Yoast to Adopt Bing and Yandex’s IndexNow Protocol – SEO & Engine News
After the IndexNow protocol has been taken into account by most WordPress SEO extensions, Yoast has decided to integrate it soon, but only in its Premium version…
A quick reminder: in October 2021, Bing and Yandex launched the IndexNow protocol which allows a website to notify a search engine when one of its pages is created, modified or deleted.
In the process (and while waiting for the results of the tests promised by Google on which we have not heard for more than 6 months), many WordPress plugins have indicated that they want to integrate this protocol into their tool (in addition to the extension offered by Bing): SEOPress, Rankmath and All in one SEO.
This left the Yoast plugin, the current leader on WordPress, in particular. After having his ears pulled at first, Joost de Valk, creator of the plugin, finally announced that IndexNow would soon be integrated into the Premium (paid) version of its tool: ” We’ll be adding this support to Yoast SEO Premium soon and can’t wait to see what impact it will have, if any. “A decision which in the wake welcomed Fabrice Canel, great instigator of this solution at Bing / Microsoft.
No date yet indicated for this launch, however, and we can regret that IndexNow is not in the free version of the plugin, but this may change in the future?
Last week I wrote about crawl optimization, this week, let’s take the next step!
I have a radical idea to change how search engines crawl sites and I’d love to hear all your feedback:https://t.co/tF8A26zhIO
