Near the end of their classes, students utilized the skills they learned to recreate a section of a painting of Placentia by Christopher Newhook, which would be pieced together for their art show at the Placentia Bay Cultural Arts Centre.

Hung for display at their school, this hour-long session taught students blending techniques. Students used glue and pastels to blend colours to create these colourful spiderwebs.

One art class student, Kaitlyn Winsor, said she really enjoyed the classes and couldn't wait to see all their work on display at the arts centre.

Students admired their own handiwork and tried to identify their own pieces of the puzzle that was their final project, the re-creation of a piece of art of the town of Placentia by instructor Christopher Newhook.

Grade 4 and 5 students at St. Edward's Elementary in Placentia took part in a 10-hour after school art club, instructed by Christopher Newhook and Lori Pretty. After the program was completed, students' artwork was displayed at the Placentia Bay Cultural Arts Centre. The artwork was displayed at their school and later at the town's Cultural Arts Centre as it was completed.
