Dear Editor;
“Could you please skateboard somewhere else?”
This is what my friends and I hear when we go to Placentia to skateboard or use our scooters. Well, certainly we would if they would just point us in the right direction.
Where can young teenagers go and play? The playgrounds are for younger kids. We go to Placentia and use the sidewalks by the Town of Placentia, Sobey’s and the post office because it is a safer place to use. The streets are too busy and dangerous to use. We always get kicked out!
We are not asking for an enormous skate park. There are large skate parks in St. John’s, but in Goulds, Marystown or CBS, they have small parks. That is all we are asking. There is enough interest here for kids our age. We just want a SAFE place to skateboard.
