Congratulations to all parties involved in any celebration that happened in Placentia this past year.
While the celebrations and festivities have not completely finished… there is ‘Les Jours Francais’ happening from Oct. 11 – 14 to help commemorate the French influences in Placentia… what did go on in Placentia this year was fabulous.
From the 350th celebrations, which encompassed events throughout the year, to the Placentia Come Home Year, which took place for a week near the end of July, to the Placentia Area Historical Society’s events like the Annual Tea Party and Heritage awards, and their Speaker Series, all volunteers involved in any of these events and more need to be commended.
It’s not easy to put these events together. Money needs to be found, ideas need to be floated and honed for each particular event, people need to be able and willing to donate of their time, and organizers need to keep everything on track.
There are plenty of meetings to attend for months before each event, and agreement needs to be reached by all interested parties.
Imagine!
As noted earlier, not an easy thing to co-ordinate. But co-ordinate things they did. Congratulations to all who stepped up to the plate in any capacity in the Placentia area this summer. Your efforts made for a fabulous and varied year full of events, and we sincerely thank you for that.
