The provincial government is preserving historical documents in digital format, Service Newfoundland and Labrador Minister Paul Davis, told the House of Assembly today.

The project, which began in 2004, has resulted in 7.7 million pages made available through the government Companies and Deeds Online system.

Service NL is currently working on digitizing records from 1825-1982.

To search digitized property deeds go to http://www.servicenl.gov.nl.ca/registries/deeds.html

Accessing the online system requires Internet Explorer.

This is the link I found via the link in the article: https://cado.eservices.gov.nl.ca/default.aspx I can't get any further than that as it requires Internet Explorer, which is slightly impossible as my laptop runs Linux.

Yes the link is useless! and that would go along with the the outdated government websites, the “undervalue of heritage buildings in the province of NL With your vanishing identifies, and lack critical monitoring of what heritage structures you have left in the province, is it any suprise that you can not find the link ?? and the structures have long gone too.

It is good to see that the PC's are keeping up with their promise of openness and accountability. These records from the 1800's showing up online demonstrate their dedication to timely disclosure.
