Support for the Progressive Conservative Party in Newfoundland and Labrador appears to be up slightly based on the results of the latest quarterly survey conducted by Corporate Research Associates.
Based on a sample of 800 adults surveyed from Nov. 13 to Dec. 1, the poll places PC support at 46 per cent amongst decided respondents, up from 45 per cent in the last quarterly poll.
Support for the NDP went from 33 per cent to 31 per cent in the latest survey, while Liberal support increased slightly from 22 per cent to 23 per cent.
Amongst the party leaders, Premier Kathy Dunderdale was the top choice for 36 per cent of those surveyed, while NDP leader Lorraine Michael came in second with 29 per cent. The Liberal’s Dwight Ball was third with 18 per cent. Those results barely changed in comparison to the last survey — Michael’s support declined by two percentage points, while Ball’s support went up by two percentage points.
As for satisfaction with the performance of the premier, eight per cent of respondents said they were completely satisfied with her performance, while 50 per cent were mostly satisfied. The 58 per cent total for those satisfied with her performance matched data from the last quarterly survey.
