Placentia native Anne Whelan was again named one of the top CEO’s in Atlantic Canada, according to Atlantic Business Magazine.
Whelan accepted the award during a ceremony in Halifax, NS on May 9.
Whelan is president of the Whelan Group, the parent company of CareGivers Inc., Blue Sky Child Youth Family Care, and Brenkir Industrial Supply, and has interests in Care Connection Newfoundland and Labrador, Shine Executive Cleaning and The Three Sisters Pub in Placentia.
“I am excited by new ways of doing things, and I love the challenge of taking something on and trying to make it a bit better than I found it,” said Whelan. “Our plan for the next couple of years following 2012 is strategic growth through geographic expansion, strategic partnership and acquisition.”
Whelan was the winner of NLOWE’s Visionary Award for her work with CareGivers Inc. and was the winner of the RBC Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year in the growth category, and was first named to the list of Top CEO’s by Atlantic Business Magazine in 2011.
