The Argentia Management Authority (AMA) has a new chief executive officer (CEO).

Harvey Brenton has worked as marketing manager for the AMA for a number of years and said he is pleased to begin his position as CEO.

“I feel extremely honoured to accept the position of Chief Executive Officer with the AMA organization at this very important and exciting period because Argentia is very well situated to successfully bring a number of major projects to fruition, thereby redefining the Argentia site as the best location for companies to establish and do business,” said Brenton.

Harvey Mercer has been acting CEO since the position was left vacant this past fall with the passing away of Ken Browne.

“We have the projects at Argentia to attract huge investment to our town, create new job opportunities for our residents, add to the town’s tax base, and position us well into this decade, and we firmly believe that our new CEO will provide the right leadership to bring this vision to fruition,” said Mercer.

Acting chairperson for the AMA, John Seay was also pleased with the appointment.

“Harvey Brenton is a seasoned manager with more than 13 years experience working in business development at Argentia. On behalf of the Board of Directors, management and staff, we offer our congratulations to Harvey on his appointment and offer him our full support in moving the business development of Argentia forward.”
