The new website for the Placentia Area Historical Society (PAHS) is now available to peruse on the Internet.
For anyone interested in history and the Placentia area, the website offers plenty, according to Tom O'Keefe, president of PAHS. Those interested should visit www.placentiahistory.ca for a gander at all that's available, from photos and documents to links to other websites.
"This site was developed because the PAHS wanted an official website to provide information about Placentia's history and the historical society. There are a number of other sites up with historical information about Placentia but none that the PAHS controls and can add to or change as required," said O'Keefe. "This new site has a number of short articles about Placentia's history, current and old photographs and information about the historical society. It has a long list of links to other historical sites and to local sites which have some history on them, plus some tourist related sites."
The Placentia Area Historical Society is now hoping that other related historical, educational and local organizations will link its new site to their sites. This will spread the word on the new site and offers its collection freely to others. For more information, contact Tom O'Keefe or visit the website.
