Two women were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle in Dunville June 17 afternoon after police were tipped off by a resident about a suspicious vehicle in the area.
Constable Blaine Beaumaster of the Placentia-Whitbourne RCMP said a resident of Fox Harbour spotted the vehicle and wondered at the St. John's signage written on the side of the truck. The resident called the number and discovered the vehicle was stolen May 20. They then alerted police who found the vehicle being driven through Dunville.
The vehicle was stopped without incident and the two St. John's women, ages 25 and 29, were charged. Police say the investigation is continuing and further charges could be laid in the case.
