Con Parsons is not new to the music industry, playing in bands and recording albums for the past 47 years. Parsons’ new CD should be on sale within the next three weeks.
This is Parsons’ 10th album and he says that it is very similar to his previous recordings with a variety of country, Newfoundland and Irish music.
“If you’re playing then you have to have variety. A bit of country, a bit of Irish, that’s what I do with all my CD’s. Mix it up a little bit. You have old and young people at dances so variety is really important.”
Parson has written two songs for his CD. One entitled “Suzanne” which is a about a little girl in Ferndale and the other song he co-wrote with Peggy Stag. Parsons is also singing a few songs with his daughter Cheri.

“She’s been singing with me for a while. This has been the third time. She sang on two CD’s before. She’s a really good singer too. We did a couple of numbers together and she did two on this one on her own.”
Parsons said that his favorite song on the CD is “Walking Piece of Heaven.” It’s a song written by the late Marty Robbins. Parsons says that this song is his tribute to his favorite country singer.
Parson’s says it takes about a month to record a CD, but he loves every bit of it.
If you want to see Parson’s perform live, he will be at the Fox Harbour festival this weekend on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
