The Town of Placentia and Rosedale Manor are sponsoring an Easter Bonnet Contest for pets of the Placentia area.

Rosedale Manor's Linda Grimm said the idea just came to her. What she really wanted was to create a positive activity around dogs, especially in light of the recent bad publicity regarding dogs and their owners in the town.

Ms. Grimm and the town are asking residents to submit a photograph of their pet in an Easter bonnet for a chance to win prizes.

Photos can be dropped off at the Placentia Bay Cultural Arts Centre of can be emailed to rpower@placentia.ca.

Judges will be youth volunteers and will take place at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 3. The Easter Bunny may well put in an appearance.

Deadline for submissions is April 3.

Photos of all entries will be posted up at the Placentia Bay Cultural Arts Centre.
