June 8 - The Dunne Memorial Academy was searched by the RCMP Police Service Dog, teachers and members of the RCMP. The building has been cleared and the letter found advising of a bomb and the intention to blow up the school is being considered a hoax. All students have been returned to class. Police will be continuing the investigation in an effort to determine the author of the letter.
Police wish to remind people this is an offence under the Criminal Code of Canada. These not only cause alarm to citizens but also potentially endanger the lives of first responders and members of the public.

June 7 - RCMP in the Avalon East District received a complaint of a bomb threat at the Dunne Memorial Academy in St. Mary's at approximately 10:00 AM this morning after someone found a note in the school. The students have been evacuated from the school and moved to another location while the RCMP search the school with the assistance of an RCMP explosive trained detection dog. More information will be released as it becomes available.
