Man succumbs to injuries

NEWS UPDATE: This man succumbed to his injuries on April 22 while at the Health Sciences Centre.

A 44-year old Chance Cove man was sent to hospital after an accident on the main road of that community.

Whitbourne RCMP responded to a call at around 8:30 p.m. April 19. When police and ambulance atendants arrived, the man was unconscious on the side of the main road in Chance Cove. The man was brought to the Whitbourne hospital and then transferred to the Health Sciences Centre with serious head injuries, according to police, who noted the man had not been wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The man remains at the Health Sciences Centre in serious condition at this time.
